ML Input → Output — Figure Sequence Concepts

Pattern completion as a logo • 10 marks • 100 / 32 / 16px • both polarities

Metaphor: a figure-sequence problem — given an example, infer the rule, generate the next figure. Two squares carry it (example → inferred next); the H/brackets are the model/frame that performs the inference. Progression is shown by fill, scale or position only — never a row of figures or a diagram.

RationaleThe minimal baseline: bold H, two square figures as the crossbar.
Figure-sequence readImplicit — two equal figures, no progression stated.
Input-outputPair only; direction not yet expressed.
H / bracket identityH very strong; no bracket cue.
Small-sizeExcellent at 16px.
RiskReads as "H with two dots" — needs a progression cue to mean sequence.
RecommendationControl/baseline; weaker on the new metaphor.

RationaleHollow input resolves to solid output inside the H.
Figure-sequence readGood — □ then ■ feels like "resolve the next state."
Input-outputClear via fill change.
H / bracket identityH strong; hollow square hints at bracket-like openness.
Small-sizeGood to 32px; hollow fills toward 16px.
RiskHollow square thins at favicon size; defer small to v5.
RecommendationStrong A option; clearest A input-output.

RationaleSmall → large states a growth rule; the bigger square is the predicted next figure.
Figure-sequence readStrong — scale change implies an inferable rule.
Input-outputClear via size.
H / bracket identityH good; crossbar slightly uneven by design.
Small-sizeFair — the small square shrinks fast below 32px.
RiskCan read as "decreasing" if mirrored; small unit fragile at 16px.
RecommendationConceptually strong; large-format use.

RationaleInput enters the left mouth, output exits the right; the central gap is the model.
Figure-sequence readModerate — positional, less "next figure" than v2/v3.
Input-outputGood — clear enter/exit by position.
H / bracket identityH strong; the gap echoes a processing seam.
Small-sizeGood; gap closes to a solid bar at 16px.
RiskTwo equal squares with a gap can read like v1 with a wider seam.
RecommendationSolid alternative; subtle meaning.

RationaleHeaviest H, two bold squares — built to win at 16px.
Figure-sequence readImplicit (two figures); the family carries the rule.
Input-outputPair only.
H / bracket identityH excellent.
Small-sizeBest of the set.
RiskNo progression cue by itself.
RecommendationFavicon master for Direction A.

RationaleBracket frame + two squares forming the crossbar — the B baseline.
Figure-sequence readImplicit; two framed figures.
Input-outputPair only.
H / bracket identityBoth present; strongest syntax read.
Small-sizeFair; bracket stems thin at 16px.
RiskNo progression cue; lighter silhouette than A.
RecommendationBaseline B; pair with a progression variant.

RationaleHollow example + larger solid = the inferred, completed next figure.
Figure-sequence readStrongest of all — completion + growth reads as "generate next."
Input-outputVery clear (fill + scale).
H / bracket identityBrackets strong; H softer (asymmetric crossbar).
Small-sizeFair; hollow + size gap compress below 32px.
RiskAsymmetry can feel unbalanced; needs optical tuning.
RecommendationBest pure expression of the metaphor.

RationaleHollow → solid, equal and centred; calm, premium state read.
Figure-sequence readGood — clean two-state inference.
Input-outputClear via fill.
H / bracket identityBoth present; balanced crossbar.
Small-sizeFair; hollow fills toward 16px.
RiskQuietest of B; relies on the hollow cue surviving.
RecommendationMost premium/calm B; pair with v6/favicon small.

RationaleStepped squares fuse brackets + H into one dynamic glyph.
Figure-sequence readGood — the offset reads as figure then next figure.
Input-outputDirectional via the diagonal step.
H / bracket identityBoth present; most ownable/distinctive.
Small-sizeGood; step simplifies to a thick crossbar.
RiskDiagonal can feel less "calm/enterprise" than centred versions.
RecommendationMost distinctive B; strong brand mark.

RationaleBracket-H frame + hollow→solid crossbar: every ingredient in one calm mark.
Figure-sequence readStrong — □→■ inside a model that visibly frames it.
Input-outputClear via fill state.
H / bracket identityBoth fully present (inward feet = H and [ ]).
Small-sizeGood; collapses to a bold bracket-H at 16px (hollow fills).
RiskCarries the most ideas — must stay disciplined to read calm.
RecommendationPrimary master candidate; pair with v5 for favicon.
